GARDEN CITY, N.Y. — March 10th — Members of the Garden City Fire Department completed their annual CPR and AED training to ensure they are ready for cardiac emergencies. The training updated firefighters' survival abilities, allowing them to perform early CPR and deploy an Automated External Defibrillator before advanced medical help arrives.

Department officials stated that GCFD members have previously used these talents to assist residents in cardiac arrest. Regular training helps firefighters respond fast and efficiently when seconds count. The Garden City Fire Department also reminded citizens that it continues to welcome anybody who want to volunteer and acquire lifesaving skills while helping their town.
