Bayville Members Conduct Rural Water Supply Training

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On March 17, members of Bayville Fire Company No. 1 conducted tanker and portable pump operations training. The agency covers a broad service area, including areas with no public water supply or fire hydrants. During the simulation, firefighters learned how to set up a water supply with the department's tanker truck, which holds 3,500 gallons of water for firefighting operations.

The training also discussed the use of portable pumps to transport water from alternative sources when hydrants are unavailable. Lt. Rashad Abdelkader conducted the nighttime training session, when members tested skills utilized in rural firefighting operations.
