ELBA, N.Y. — March 17th — Members of the Elba Fire Department performed an entry-level training scenario using skills taught the previous week. Firefighters carrying air packs finished a course designed to simulate conditions encountered on a working fire. The training consisted of room searches, following a hose line, hauling hoses, and navigating obstacles. The practice was held in complete darkness to offer new members a realistic glimpse of internal fire conditions and limited visibility.
