Orland Fire Departments Complete Successful Ice Rescue Training Exercise
Orland, ME - Another winter ice rescue training session has been successfully completed, providing valuable hands-on experience for participating firefighters. Several newer members had the opportunity to train in ice rescue techniques for the first time, demonstrating strong performance throughout the exercise, while more experienced personnel refreshed their skills and assisted with instruction.
Weather and ice conditions on the river proved ideal, allowing crews to practice a variety of rescue scenarios and methods. The training also benefited from mutual participation, with members from Penobscot Volunteer Fire Department, Bucksport Fire Department, and Castine Fire Rescue Department joining the exercise.
The session highlighted teamwork, skill development, and continued preparedness for winter-related emergencies.
