The Bergen Fire Department continues their monthly training program with a focus on responsibility, emphasizing the significance of maintaining individual skills as well as operational readiness.
During the evening drill, fire and EMS units worked together to reinforce several important basics. Firefighters practiced skills that aid in emergency medical responses, such as assisting EMTs with CPR, offering lifting assistance, running ambulances when necessary, and cooperating at motor vehicle accidents and other medical calls.
According to department commanders, the training also included communication and understanding how firemen and EMS staff work together on the scene. As fire departments respond to more medical situations, coordinated training helps crews run smoothly and safely. Members spent the evening practicing the fundamentals, reviewing equipment, and developing collaboration to promote effective response to calls around the community.
