This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

FARMINGTON, NY — March 8th — Firefighters had the opportunity to review critical fireground skills during a live training burn conducted by members of the Farmington Volunteer Fire Association at a historic farm property in the community. Crews were able to practice hose deployment, fire attack, ventilation, and coordination in a realistic setting thanks to the controlled burn. Firefighters can obtain experience in a setting that closely resembles real emergency situations by participating in live-fire training.

The National Fire Protection Association states that in order to safeguard firefighters and enhance operational preparedness, training burns must adhere to stringent safety regulations. In order to provide firefighters with an opportunity to review their abilities early in the year and maintain preparedness for structure fire responses within the Farmington neighborhood, the property owner collaborated with the department to approve the training.
