February 25, 2026 — Baker County Fire Rescue responded alongside units from the Florida Forest Service to a brush fire reported in the 23000 block of Hilltop Road in the Taylor area of Baker County, Florida. Firefighters arrived to find an approximately eight-acre vegetation fire that was threatening nearby homes and surrounding property. Crews worked to contain and control the blaze, preventing further spread into residential areas. Officials believe the fire likely originated from an escaped debris burn, highlighting the dangers of outdoor burning during dry conditions. Authorities are reminding residents that the county burn ban remains in effect and will continue until significant rainfall arrives later in the spring. Fire officials urge residents to follow the burn restrictions to reduce the risk of additional wildfires and protect homes, land, and natural resources throughout the area.
