February 28, 2026 — The Colchester Fire Department temporarily closed several roadways while crews responded to a fire incident in the area of Al Shir Road, Bellwood Avenue, and Gregg. Officials initially advised residents to avoid the area as firefighters worked the scene and emergency operations were underway. During the response, the affected roads were shut down to ensure the safety of firefighters, residents, and motorists while crews managed the incident. After operations were completed, authorities announced that the roadways had reopened to normal traffic.
