Auburn Fire Department Promotes Erik Poland to Battalion Chief

March 10, 2026 — The Auburn Fire Department announced the promotion of Erik Poland to the rank of Battalion Chief, recognizing his years of dedicated service and leadership within the department. Battalion Chief Poland began his career with the department in January 2008 and steadily advanced through the ranks, first being promoted to Lieutenant in July 2018 and later to Captain in February 2023. On February 22, 2026, he was officially elevated to the role of Battalion Chief. In his new position, Poland—who is also a paramedic—will serve as the Shift Commander of Shift A and will oversee operations within the department’s Special Rescue Division. Department officials praised his commitment, experience, and leadership, noting that his promotion reflects both his professional achievements and his continued dedication to protecting the residents of Auburn, Maine.
