Berlin, NH - In February, the department was operating at two or more emergency scenes simultaneously on 31 occasions.
Members of the department emphasize the importance of fire safety, reminding the public that smoke alarms save lives. Smoke alarms should be installed inside every bedroom, outside sleeping areas, and on every level of the home. They should be tested monthly, with batteries replaced at least once a year, or the units replaced entirely after 10 years.
