March 8, 2026 — The Tiverton Fire Department announced that Captain James Vaughan was honored as “Firefighter of the Year” during a recognition event hosted by the Tiverton Lions Club. The award recognizes Vaughan’s dedication, leadership, and service to the Tiverton community through his work with the fire department. During the ceremony, Captain Vaughan was presented with a commemorative plaque in recognition of his commitment to protecting residents and supporting fellow firefighters. Department officials congratulated Vaughan and acknowledged the efforts of all honorees recognized during the annual event, while also expressing appreciation to the Tiverton Lions Club for continuing to host the ceremony each year to highlight the contributions of local first responders and community leaders.
