March 9, 2026 — The Dunn's Corners Fire Department announced the addition of a new member to its career staff, officially welcoming Ava Bridge to the department. Bridge began her first day with the department on March 9, bringing with her five years of volunteer fire service experience from the Richmond-Carolina Fire District, where she currently serves as a lieutenant. In addition to her fire service background, Bridge is also known locally for her work as an emergency dispatcher for the Town of Charlestown and her service with the Charlestown Ambulance Rescue Service. She is currently completing her AEMT-Cardiac certification and has previously received recognition for her work on emergency incidents. Department officials noted they are excited to welcome Bridge to the team and look forward to the experience and dedication she brings to the community.
