February 26, 2026 — Firefighters with the Bartlett Firefighters Association spent Tuesday evening focusing on fundamental fireground skills during a hands-on training session at the Bartlett Fire Department. The training emphasized basic hose deployment techniques, including stretching attack lines and properly repacking hose beds for rapid response. Captain Robinson constructed a specialized hose bed training prop to simulate real-world conditions and help firefighters practice efficient hose handling. Throughout the evening, crews completed more than sixteen evolutions, reinforcing the importance of repetition and muscle memory in emergency operations. Department officials noted that these drills play a critical role in improving speed, coordination, and readiness when firefighters respond to active structure fires. By repeatedly practicing hose deployment techniques, firefighters ensure they can quickly and effectively place attack lines in service when lives and property are at risk.
