East Herkimer Reports 26 Calls in February

The East Herkimer Volunteer Fire Department had 26 calls for assistance in February, with activity fueled in part by the department's new EMS program.


According to department records, firefighters and EMS personnel responded to 19 EMS calls, 4 automatic fire alarms, 1 wires down event, and 2 mutual aid structure fires this month.


Department officials stated that the increasing EMS activity reflects the department's growing responsibility in providing emergency medical support to the community.
