Boston, NY — March 10th — The Boston Volunteer Fire Department completed its Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) training with a hands-on simulation at Station 2.
Students demonstrated many key firefighting techniques taught during the training, such as hose operations, ladder work, SCBA cylinder changes, and rope work with essential knots. The training also emphasized teamwork and developing the strong ties required in the fire department.
According to department officials, the class has delivered weeks of teaching on a variety of professional topics. As the training neared its conclusion, instructors wished the students success on their impending exams and welcomed them into the firefighting community.
