Fire Service Leaders Meet Lawmakers During Albany Advocacy Event

Champlain, NY — 12th March — At Legislative Advocacy Day 2026 at the New York State Capitol in Albany, members of the Champlain Fire District, located at 11006 Route 9 in Champlain, joined firemen from throughout Clinton County. The Fire Coordinators Association of New York State, the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs, and the New York State Association of Fire Districts coordinated the event.
The greatest number of firefighters attended the event from Clinton County. Responders met with members of the State Assembly and Senate to talk about issues pertaining to volunteer fire departments, such as support for local emergency services, training requirements, and recruitment. The delegation from Clinton County was also invited by Assemblyman Cashman to visit the Assembly Chambers and speak with other legislators.
