Fort Ann, NY — February 25th —Members of the Fort Ann Volunteer Fire Company and the Kingsbury Volunteer Hose Company trained together on vehicle and structural stabilizing equipment.
The program covered in-service training for Fort Ann's Res-Q-Jack pin struts as well as Kingsbury's pin-free strut systems. Under the supervision of Instructor DeRidder, firemen reviewed deployment tactics, stabilization principles, load considerations, and equipment safety constraints.
The training focused on correct setup, operational safety, and understanding the capabilities of stabilization devices used in vehicle crashes and structural disasters. According to department officials, collaborative training strengthens technical skills while enhancing coordination between nearby mutual assistance departments, which commonly work together on disaster scenes.
