Rockland County, NY — March 4th — Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services recently sponsored Instructor Authorizations for state fire instructors assigned to the county. The authorization enables approved instructors to conduct state-certified courses locally, increasing training possibilities for firefighters throughout the county.

Officials stated that the new authority will allow the county to begin offering the Firefighter II curriculum at the Rockland County Fire Training Center. The advanced training focuses on the leadership, operational knowledge, and technical skills required in the modern fire department.

Providing the training locally is expected to boost accessibility and participation while also helping the ongoing development of Rockland County's volunteer fire service.
