COPAKE, NY — February 16th — Copake Fire Company #1 members participated in a joint training session with the Copake Community Rescue Squad at Station #1, which concentrated on ambulance familiarization and patient extraction equipment.
During the simulation, firefighters collaborated with EMS workers to evaluate the ambulance layout, medical equipment, and tools used during patient extrication. Members also trained using rescue squad equipment to increase communication between fire and EMS units during emergencies.
Operations Supervisor and Paramedic Pete Doty, along with other EMTs and paramedics from the rescue squad, helped with the training and offered instruction throughout the program.
