Binghamton Firefighter Mike Maney Retires After 22 Years

 February 20th —The Binghamton Fire Department honored Firefighter Mike Maney on his retirement after more than 22 years in the fire service.


On August 5, 2004, Maney began his career with the Johnson City Fire Department. Following a year with the Cortland Fire Department in 2010, he joined the Binghamton Fire Department on January 8, 2011. During his time with BFD, he worked on Group C at Headquarters on the Tower, then moved to Group B at Quint 2, and finally at Engine 4.


Maney hails from a strong firefighting family. His father worked for the Johnson City Fire Department and retired as Chief, and other family members eventually entered the field.
