Department Remembers Fallen Firefighter

BINGHAMTON, NY — February 13th — On the one-year anniversary of Firefighter John "JR" Gaudet's death in the line of duty, members of the Binghamton Fire Department came to mourn him, as did relatives, friends, and community members.


A candlelight ceremony was organized to commemorate Gaudet's service and the impact he had on the department and the community. Fellow firemen praised his dedication to the profession and the commanding presence he provided both on the fireground and in the station.


According to department members, Gaudet's legacy lives on through the memories shared by those who served beside him, as well as the dedication that firefighters demonstrate every day.


The gathering served as a time of commemoration and honor for his dedication, sacrifice, and lasting legacy in the Binghamton Fire Department.
