On March 4th, the Baldwin County Fire Rescue visited Mrs. Sills' third-grade class at Midway Hills Academy to educate students about fire safety. Dylan Amerson, a fire safety educator, and Lt. Jesse Law talked about the need of functional smoke alarms, firefighters' roles, and how families should build and practice a house fire escape plan.
Students engaged by asking questions and learning how to keep safe during an emergency. Fire officials stated that school visits promote safety awareness at a young age and develop community connections.
