LAFAYETTE TWP., NJ - The Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department held a vehicle extrication training program aimed at strengthening skills, teamwork, and operational safety in winter circumstances.
While operating in cold conditions, which can impact equipment performance and responder dexterity, crews went over vehicle stabilization, patient access, and coordinated tool use. Since significant car accidents happen all year round, regardless of the temperature, training under these settings is representative of real-world response environments. In order to retain proficiency and lower on-scene risk, fire department training guidelines place a strong emphasis on frequent, practical drills. Lafayette firefighters stay ready to respond to crises on nearby roads in a safe and efficient manner by maintaining their organized training throughout the winter.
