APPARATUS FROM OCEAN COUNTY

 

    This month we travel to Ocean County from one end to the other. Featured is one apparatus from the north end and the rest from the south end. In the north end is Brick Township’s Laurelton Fire Company which has a new Pierce pumper. Laurelton has three stations. In the south end we feature three apparatus from the Eagleswood Fire Company in West Creek Township. One is a Spartan ER pumper, another is a Spartan Metro Star/Marion Body pumper and the third is a Freightliner M2, 112/U.S. Tanker. Going further south is West Tuckerton in Little Egg Harbor Township. Featured there is a Spartan ER Star pumper, a Kenworth T-880/Spartan tender and lastly a Ford/Knapheide dive truck.

    In apparatus news it appears that Absolute Fire Protection has become the New Jersey distributor for W.S. Darley fire apparatus in addition to being an E-ONE dealer. They have received an order from Somerville (Somerset County) for an E-ONE HP-75 quint. It will have a Cyclone chassis, 2000 gpm pump and 500 gallon water tank. The have delivered a Darley tactical pumper to Sea Isle City (Cape May County) on a Ford F-550 chassis. Hampton Township (Sussex County) received an E-ONE 3,000 gallon tanker on a Freightliner 114 SD chassis.

    Emergency Equipment Sales & Service delivered a Marion heavy rescue to Rutherford (Bergen County) on an HME 1871 W LFD chassis with 12 inch raised roof cab. Other specs are a Cummins L9, diesel engine, 19 foot body with rooftop walkway, Will Burt led light tower, 15 kw PTO generator, ground ladders through the rear, Ramsey 12 VAC winch and anchor points, speedy dry hopper, active air system, and Haas safety alert. It has custom upfitting with lighting and compartments by EES along with special tool mounting and special graphics to identify Rescue 5. Their ambulance division has delivered an Excellance Type III to the Gloucester County EMS. They have received orders from Midland Park EMS (Bergen County) for a Type III Tri Star ambulance and from Hopewell Township (Mercer County) for a new High Ground Conversion T350 AWD Type II ambulance. A second order was received from Hopewell to perform a remount of their Ford E 450 Type II.

    Defender Emergency Products has delivered four Medix ambulances to On Time Medical transport in Roselle (Union County.) Three are Type II on Ford Transit van chassis and one is a Type III RP 90 on a Ford E-chassis.

    Campbell Supply has received an order form the Robertsville FC in Marlboro Township (Monmouth County) for a Spartan/SVI wet rescue with ELFD cab having a 20 inch raised roof. Specs include a Cummins X 15, 565 hp diesel engine, 26 foot non-walk-in body, four cylinder air cascade, Sierra booster, Waterous 750 gpm pump, 300 gallon water and 20 gallon foam tanks, Aquis foam system, Harrison 15 kw generator and Command Light. 

    Firefighter 1 has delivered three Ferrara Cinder custom pumpers. One went to the East Orange FD (Essex County) for Engine 5. Specs include an extended cab with 8 inch raised roof and 6 seats, Cummins L9, 450 hp diesel engine, Hale Qmax 1500 gpm pump, front intake, four 2 ½-inch discharges off of the rear, right side LDH discharge, 750 gallon water tank ( L shape for low hose bed, 58 ¼ inches from ground to floor), heavy duty extruded aluminum body, roof hook storage in the hose bed and rear transverse compartment, five hooks total and ladders and high rise pack storage above the right side compartments. The other two went to the North Hudson Regional Fire Rescue (Hudson County.) Specs include an extended cab with 8 inch raised roof, Cummins L9, 450 hp diesel engine, Hale Qmax 1750 gpm pump, front intake, right side and rear LDH discharge, 750 gallon water tank, (L shaped for low hose bed, 58 ¼ inches ground to floor), heavy duty extruded aluminum body and ladders and high rise pack storage above the right side compartments.

    Fire & Safety Services has received an order for a Pierce Enforcer pumper from Roseland (Essex County.) Pierce deliveries include a Saber pumper to the Tri County FC in Mansfield Township (Warren County); two Arrow XT pumpers to the City of Elizabeth (Union County); an Enforcer PUC pumper to Montvale (Bergen County) and an Enforcer pumper to the City of Clifton (Passaic County.)
