On May 12, 2025, while on an aerial ladder attempting a rescue during a rowhome fire, Lieutenant Mark Dranbauer, Jr. suffered a medical emergency. He fell down the ladder and was quickly rescued by other firefighters. Lieutenant Dranbauer was then taken to a hospital in critical condition where he passed away on May 17, 2025.
