Bethlehem Township, N.J. — November 30 — A working residential structure fire on Charlestown Road prompted the Pattenburg Volunteer Fire Company Station 25 to be sent into Bethlehem Township. Chief 25, Deputy Chief 25, two lieutenants, Engine 25, Tender 25, Squad 25, and Special Services 25 responded to the first box alarm. Hampton Station 13, Glen Gardner Station 12, High Bridge Station 14, Warren County Station 57, South Branch Rescue, and other agencies provided mutual aid on the assignment. Water supply was the responsibility of two tender task groups.
To launch an internal assault, Deputy Chief 25 joined the first-arriving Engine 12 crew on the Delta side. Later, a roof collapse and worsening conditions forced the crews to leave, and they continued to operate defensively until entrance was feasible.
