Elizabeth Township, Pa. — December 30 — As part of the first alarm assignment, units from the Elizabeth Township Fire Department responded to an evening working house fire on Willem Drive in Jefferson Hills. Along with many local mutual assistance agencies, crews supported Jefferson Hills Fire-Rescue. 140 Engine 7, 140 Squad 7, and 140 Rehab were among the responding units. Due to cold circumstances, the rehab unit offered firefighter warming and rehabilitation services as ETFD members assisted with fire suppression and overhaul operations. Before being freed and going back to work, companies worked on the scene for around three hours. Crews were able to effectively oversee fireground activities while preserving firefighter safety thanks to the coordinated response. At the time of the incident, no more details on injuries or damage were immediately available.
