BROOKLYN, NY - Brooklyn Firefighters responded shortly after 7:00 P.M. on December 31, 2023, to an initial report of an outside fire to find construction scaffolding heavily involved at a New York City Housing Development located at 881 Schenck Avenue in the East New York section of Brooklyn. Box 1999 was transmitted for a fourth-alarm with numerous special calls. The cause of the fire is in under investigation. New York City Housing Authority Emergency Management Services Department and New York City Emergency Management responded to assist with displaced tenants.
