ABINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS (PLYMOUTH COUNTY) - Around 1430 hours on the afternoon of December 26, 2025 the Abington Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 26 Winthrop Street. Companies had heavy fire showing on-arrival from a 2.5-story wood framed dwelling. The fire was knocked down with an aggressive interior attack, multiple hand lines and the assistance of several mutual aid companies. All occupants were able to escape the blaze, however three pets perished.
