On December 3, at 12:05 p.m., members of the Tobyhanna Township Volunteer Fire Company were called to a house gas alert in the Locust Lake Village area of the township due to a probable sickness. A Blakeslee crew responded with 41-Utility-3, and a Pocono Pines team arrived with 41-Rescue Engine-2. For about twenty-five minutes, firefighters were on the site inspecting the house and making sure everything was safe. Station 11 of Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Medical Services also arrived to help.

Station 41 reminded locals of the need to routinely test their home's fire and carbon monoxide alarms after the event. Additionally, the department urged community members who were interested in helping to think about working with the organization. Training is offered, and no prior experience is necessary. To find out more, interested parties were asked to visit the Pocono Pines firehouse on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m.
