Units from Monroeville Fire Department Company #4 were sent out on a box alarm for a reported home fire with persons trapped in Turtle Creek just before 3:00 p.m. on December 20. Rescue 4 was initially designated as the fast intervention unit and reacted to the first alert. Truck 4 arrived at the scene after the command requested a second alarm due to the fire conditions. Until the fire was contained, Company 4 units worked for almost an hour to support and assist with suppression efforts.
Two EMS teams and one suppression crew stayed in quarters to provide coverage during the event. After assignments were finished, units were cleaned and put back into service.
