December 27, 2020 – Avalon Borough, Allegheny County – At 5:13am, crews were dispatched to 200 block of Marie Avenue for a house fire. Crews arrived and found a working fire on the second floor. Crews went to work and began to attack the fire. Additional units were dispatched as crews continued to work. At one point, a Mayday was called for a firefighter down on the second floor. Rapid Intervention Crews were deployed, and the firefighter made it of the structure unharmed. Crews then continued to battle the fire for several hours in frigid temperatures before the fire was brought under control. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
