Stratford, NJ — November 28 — Task Force 64 of the Stratford Fire Department was sent to the 200 block of Winding Way Road in response to a reported house fire. County communications elevated the assignment to an All Hands response, bringing in automatic help, after reporting an active garage fire while units were their approach.

When Engine 64, the Deputy Chief and Battalion 64 arrived, they discovered a working garage fire that was spreading into the house. In order to stop further extension inside the house, the engine crew advanced a handline and effected a firm stop. While other departments covered the Stratford station during the incident, mutual aid organizations helped with scene support and suppression. There were no reported injuries. The New Jersey State Fire Marshal's Office is still looking into the fire.
