Haddonfield, NJ — December 2 — To acquaint members with the department's recently acquired self-contained breathing apparatus, Haddon Fire Company No. 1 conducted training. Practical SCBA use in emergency situations, such as situations necessitating the rescue of a downed or distressed fireman, was the main focus of the workshop. Before using those abilities during practical evolutions, members studied air management features, equipment components, and emergency protocols. Maintaining control of the air supply, identifying low-air problems, and helping another fireman in low visibility were all stressed in the training.
In order to lower danger on the fireground, fire department guidelines emphasize the significance of regular SCBA proficiency and mayday readiness. Officers of the company observed that regular training with designated equipment enhances confidence and coordination during situations. The department keeps funding training that promotes operational preparedness and firefighter safety.
