Larksville Fire Department Assists with Overnight Medical Helicopter Landing Zone

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 16, 2025, members of the Larksville Fire Department responded to a Landing Zone Stand-By assignment to support an incoming medical helicopter. The call, logged as Incident 2025-367, was dispatched at approximately 4:32 a.m. Crews established and secured a safe landing zone to facilitate the arrival of Geisinger Life Flight, ensuring clear access and scene safety under nighttime winter conditions.

Engine 1 and Ambulance 554 were placed on scene alongside the Life Flight crew, working together to provide coordinated support for patient transport. Firefighters managed perimeter control, lighting, and ground safety while the helicopter completed its landing and departure operations. The incident concluded without complications, highlighting the importance of interagency cooperation during critical medical responses.
