December 1, 2025 —Members of the Kingston Forty Fort Fire Department proudly balanced community tradition and emergency readiness during the second annual Kingston Christmas Tree Lighting event on the evening of December 1. Firefighters had the honor of escorting Santa Claus into town aboard Tower 1, creating a festive and memorable entrance as families gathered to celebrate the start of the holiday season. The event highlighted the department’s strong connection to the community and its commitment to supporting local traditions.

Even amid the celebration, emergency response remained a top priority. Shortly before the event photos were taken, Medic 13 was dispatched to an emergency call within the first-due area. Soon after, Engine 4 and Squad 2 were assigned as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) to a commercial structure fire in Nanticoke. Despite multiple active responses, crews ensured there were enough personnel available to safely return Santa to his sleigh, demonstrating the department’s ability to adapt quickly while maintaining public safety.

Department officials expressed pride in their members for exemplifying teamwork, dedication, and service. Events like the tree lighting serve as a reminder that while firefighters are always prepared to answer the call for help, they also value opportunities to engage with residents and strengthen community bonds during meaningful occasions.
