December 21, 2025 — Members of Hughestown Emergency Services Station 143 spent Sunday afternoon spreading holiday cheer and lending a helping hand as they partnered with Santa Claus for their annual community food drive. Firefighters traveled throughout Hughestown Borough collecting canned goods from generous residents, filling an entire truck with donations by the end of the day.

The collected food items will be donated to Meals on Wheels of Greater Pittston, supporting local seniors and neighbors in need during the holiday season. Organizers said the overwhelming response once again highlighted the strong sense of community and generosity within Hughestown.

Station 143 expressed gratitude to residents for their continued support and participation, noting that efforts like these help ensure families across the region have access to warm meals and essential food supplies during the winter months.
