Volunteers from the Marshalls Creek Fire Company supported emergency medical services (EMS) and mitigated traffic incidents throughout the day on December 10, responding to a consistent stream of calls from several towns.
At 3:22 a.m., the first call was made in Price Township's 200 block of Forest Drive, where personnel worked with Pocono Mountain Regional EMS to assist EMS. Units were sent to Big Buck Lane in Middle Smithfield Township later that day at 6:54 a.m. to set up a landing zone for a medical emergency involving Bushkill EMS. When air medical assistance was refused because of the weather, that response was canceled while en route.
Crews responded to two incidents in the afternoon: a weather-related traffic problem on Marshalls Creek Road in Middle Smithfield Township and a car accident with injuries on Snow Hill Road in Price Township. Pocono Mountain Regional EMS and Tobyhanna Army Depot EMS responded to a second injury crash on Timber Hill Road in Price Township as the day came to an end. Before going back to work, volunteers worked with several units during the day.
