Germania Hose Co. Receives Tree Grant, New Plantings Enhance Station Grounds

November 15, 2025 — Duryea, Pa. | Germania Hose Company

Members of the Germania Hose Company marked a milestone in community beautification on Nov. 15 as new trees were planted on department property through a grant supported by Duryea Borough and the Duryea Betterment Committee. The project was completed with assistance from the Duryea Department of Public Works and Borough officials, further strengthening cooperation between the fire company and municipal partners.

The newly planted trees are part of a broader effort to improve and enhance the appearance of the Germania Hose Company grounds while contributing to long-term environmental and community benefits. Fire company members expressed appreciation to the Borough, the Betterment Committee, and DPW crews for securing the grant and completing the installation.

Officials noted the project reflects the strong sense of local pride and collaboration in Duryea, highlighting how partnerships between volunteer organizations and local government can produce lasting improvements for the community.
