Freeland Fire Department 136 welcomed a familiar holiday guest back to the Northside on Sunday, Dec. 21, as Santa Claus made another community visit ahead of Christmas Eve. Traveling with the help of FFD apparatus and members, Santa stopped throughout the neighborhood to greet residents and reassure children that he and his reindeer are ready for their annual Christmas Eve journey.
Santa thanked the community for the warm reception from both young and old, noting that children in the area have been especially well-behaved this year. He also expressed appreciation to the department’s “elves” — Joe, Nate, Dibbers, Ash, Greg, and Brandon — for assisting with the visit, promising a little extra in their stockings.
The event continued a long-standing holiday tradition that brings firefighters and neighbors together while spreading seasonal cheer across the borough. Photos from the visit were shared courtesy of various community Facebook pages.
