VIERA, FL - A driver believed to be under the influence ended up in a retention pond after running a stop sign at a high rate of speed, going airborne over an embankment and ending up in the water, on December 26, 2023. The car sank in the deep water. The Brevard County Sheriff's dive team responded and attached a cable to the car. The car was winched out and the local driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
