Nov. 29, 2025 | Freeland Fire Department 136 — Firefighters with the Freeland Fire Department spent two busy days preparing the borough’s Northside for one of its most anticipated holiday traditions: the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus and the annual community Christmas Tree lighting. Crews worked through challenging weather conditions to install decorations throughout town, helping transform the area into a festive holiday setting.
The celebration began at Della Croce Memorial Field, where Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived in true North Pole fashion, delivered by reindeer led by Rudolph. Fire Department Engine 136 then escorted the holiday couple to Martin Square for the official tree lighting ceremony before transporting them to the Freeland Borough Building. There, children from across the community had the chance to visit with Santa and share in the holiday excitement.
Department officials also thanked the firefighters and volunteers who dedicated long hours—despite cold, harsh conditions—to ensure the community could enjoy a bright and welcoming start to the Christmas season.
