November 27, 2025 —Freeland Fire Department 136 responded to six separate incidents over a 36-hour span, keeping crews busy with a range of emergency and service calls throughout Foster Township and surrounding areas.
The first incident occurred in the 600 block of Fern Street, where FFD provided an EMS assist involving a forced entry, with the department’s truck handling the response. Within an hour, the truck and engine were dispatched to an automatic fire alarm in the 600 block of Centre Street.
Crews were later called to another EMS assist in the 200 block of Maple Street in the Alvington section of the township. That call was followed by a response to Beaver Meadows in Carbon County for a reported structure fire; however, the Freeland truck was cancelled while en route.
The following day began with a full first-alarm commercial box assignment to Front and Graham Streets. That response was cancelled by Chief Joseph J. Stepansky after the incident was confirmed to be a controlled burn in Foster Township.
Later that evening, Freeland units responded alongside Foster Township firefighters to a reported structure fire in the 600 block of Cedar Street in the Grove section. Joint crews determined the issue was a heating system malfunction and worked together to mitigate the situation.
Despite the high call volume, Freeland Fire Department remained fully operational throughout the period, demonstrating continued readiness and coordination with neighboring departments to ensure community safety.
