Bus Fire Reported on Interstate 80 Near Foster Township, No Injuries

December 7, 2025 | Fearnots Fire Company. Foster Fire 134 was dispatched to Interstate 80 at mile marker 270.1 for a reported bus fire. Engine 134-ER responded and, while en route, additional resources were requested, including a tanker from 116 Valley Regional and an engine from White Haven 186 as a precaution.
Upon arrival, crews found all occupants safely evacuated from the bus with no visible fire conditions. It was determined that the bus driver had used a portable fire extinguisher to extinguish a fire in the engine compartment prior to the arrival of emergency responders. With no active fire present, incoming units from White Haven 186 and Valley Regional 116 were recalled.
Firefighters from Foster Fire 134 utilized a thermal imaging camera to thoroughly check the bus interior and engine compartment for any signs of fire extension or hidden heat. No further hazards were identified. Pennsylvania State Police remained on scene to assist with traffic control and until the bus was safely removed from the roadway. Foster Fire 134-ER then cleared the scene without incident.
