December 21, 2025 —Fannett-Metal Fire and Ambulance Inc. personnel participated in departmental training exercises on hazardous materials preparedness and fireground operations on Sunday.

Three volunteers finished their training to become inside firefighters. In order to complete the Essentials of Firefighting curriculum, Firefighters J. Peterson and Naugle each completed 136 hours of training. After completing the course, Firefighter A. Peterson became a senior interior-qualified member of the department.

Other volunteers stayed at the station to finish the yearly HazMat Operations refresher while interior training took place at the burn building. The department's fire suppression and hazardous materials response capabilities were strengthened by the integrated training, which also guaranteed ongoing adherence to operational standards.
