On December 22, as locals gathered to participate in the Bendersville Santa Run, Santa Claus made his yearly tour of the neighborhood. The program, which brought holiday happiness to areas throughout the borough, was organized with assistance from members of the Bendersville Community Fire Department.

Santa was escorted by the Bendersville Borough Police Department, who made sure the run went through town streets without incident. Simultaneously, two fire department engine units were assigned to help respond to a home fire in Gettysburg. Staffing and coordination made it possible to manage both operations successfully in spite of the concurrent emergency. The Santa Run highlighted cooperation among public safety agencies while maintaining service to the community during the busy holiday season.
