Mystic, Connecticut — December 9 — Units G-62 and G-67 of the Old Mystic Fire Department (Official) responded to a second-alarm structure fire in the City of Groton. To assist the City of Groton Fire Department and other mutual-aid organizations working at the area, ten Old Mystic firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

Under the supervision of incident command, Old Mystic staff supported fireground operations. Four more members stayed in the area to guarantee ongoing coverage for local crises while crews were committed in Groton. When a fire necessitates prolonged operations, second-alarm responses offer additional personnel and resources. The response demonstrated the need of personnel coordination and regional mutual aid in preserving efficient fire safety across numerous areas.
