December 19, 2025 — At 10:48 a.m., Cedar Grove Fire Company was dispatched to a reported propane delivery truck rollover with an active leak at 1228 Route 212.

Upon arrival, Car 3 confirmed a roughly 3,000-gallon propane truck on its side with an active release. The driver was safely out of the vehicle. Due to the hazardous conditions, a request was made for the City of Kingston Hazardous Materials Team.

First-arriving crews stretched two handlines and began flowing water to help disperse the propane away from potential ignition sources. Additional tankers were requested from the Glasco, Mount Marion, and Woodstock fire departments. Saugerties Police assisted with evacuations along Route 212 and Pine Lane, while surrounding homes were checked for exposure, all registering zero readings.

Crews operated on scene for several hours until the leak was successfully stopped. Once the scene was deemed safe, the vehicle was uprighted and removed. All units returned to service at approximately 2:50 p.m.

Cedar Grove Fire Company thanked all assisting agencies, including City of Kingston Hazmat, Glasco Fire Department, Mount Marion Fire Department, Woodstock Fire Department, Diaz Ambulance, Town of Saugerties Police, Central Hudson, the Saugerties Building Department, and the Ulster County Fire Coordinator. Standby coverage for the district was provided by Ulster Hose Engine 4 during the incident.
