Tolland, Connecticut — 22nd November — At the intersection of Goose Lane and Anderson Road, a two-car motor vehicle collision prompted the response of Tolland Fire Department units. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that two passenger cars were involved and started to secure the area. Crews helped with vehicle stabilization, hazard mitigation, and coordination with law enforcement and emergency medical services. Drivers were asked to exercise caution when navigating the crossroads, and traffic was impeded while people and equipment operated on the road.
There were no recorded firefighter injuries. Coordinated actions and scene safety were made possible by the incident command system's management of the occurrence. Units were freed and put back into service after cars were dealt with and the route was made safe.
