Bluepoint FD Handles Crash With Overturn

Patchogue NY- On December 13th at about 5:04 PM the Blue Point Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on West Main St near Atlantic Ave. Blue Point Chief 30 was first to radio to Suffolk Fire-Com that he was going to the scene. Fire-Com advised him that he was responding to a call for a vehicle crash with overturn and possible children trapped in the vehicle. PD was also reporting they needed a rush on rescue over PD dispatch.
The chief arrived on scene a short time later and advised that he had a confirmed overturn at what appeared to be a 3-vehicle crash and that all occupants had gotten out of the vehicles. Crews from Blue Point FD went to work on arrival securing vehicles and cleaning up the scene. Patchogue ambulance was on scene checking out all the occupants including the children that were in the one vehicle. The chief of Blue Point also requested that Fire-Com notify the Patchogue Chiefs as they were operating in their district. The road was closed for an extended period of Time after the crash for the vehicle to be uprighted and the other vehicles to be removed.
